Santa Barbara, CA – Recording artist David Pack, former co-founder, writer & singer of classic hits for prog rock band Ambrosia, and Grammy-winning producer, regretfully announced the passing of his wife Stacey Pack after a courageous 5-year battle with metastatic breast cancer. She was 50 years old.

Born and raised in Annapolis, Maryland, Stacey worked for NSA in Ft. Meade, MD for a number of years before moving to California where she was employed by Warner Bros. Entertainment. She and David were married in Kauai in 2005 while residing in Redondo Beach, CA. Then they lived almost a decade in Orange County, CA as part of Saddleback Church with Purpose Driven Life Pastor Rick Warren.  They moved in 2015 to Napa Valley until their recent move to Santa Barbara.

David expressed his profound loss in the following statement:

"My wife, best friend, muse, and mother of our son Jackson (17) has died after a courageous half-decade battle with metastatic breast cancer. Only 50, she was more than extraordinary...and without her, I feel as if my life preserver has been taken away as I drift out into the open sea. In my eyes, she was the most beautiful woman God ever created. She had no idea just how beautiful she was because of her humble and sweet spirit. She sang on my solo albums and is featured on my upcoming new album Best Life dedicated to her, and though she was not a professional singer her talent was stunning.

“Dancing with angels, free from this broken world, we have committed her soul to our Heavenly Father late Thursday night, Feb 9 surrounded by friends, family, and prayers by phone from Pastor Rick Warren and Pastor Ken Foreman."

Stacey’s legacy of love will include the Stacey Pack Best Life Cancer Foundation, which she co-founded in 2019 to support fellow pro recording artists and musicians battling cancer. It’s the only organization in the world of its kind. Michael & Amy McDonald and other friends like Christopher Cross, were instrumental in establishing its foundation.

Announcements will be coming for memorial concerts in Stacey Pack's honor. David requests prayers for his family in the days ahead as they bear the weight of their loss.

Along with husband David & son Jackson she is survived by father Lee Vann, mother Nancy Blythe, sister Sherri DeBari, and brother Craig Vann, and their respective families.

In lieu of flowers, David Pack is requesting that donations be made to this foundation (click Donate link in header above.)
